Paul F. Peri, EdD, is an ordained priest of the Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon. He earned his Doctor of Education degree from Columbia University. Father Peri has served as pastor of three parishes, as the vicar for clergy, the vicar general, the vicar for finance, and the moderator of the curia for last three archbishops of Portland.

Perspective of a Student

While enrolled in a graduate-level class on parish administration, this text was required for classroom reading and I'm very thankful that it was. Given my very limited knowledge of parish administration - including the context of the parish, parish finance, human resources/personnel, property and insurance - I found this text to be a perfect fit for the foundational learning I will soon be exposed to in a hands-on basis. Paul Peri writes from the perspective of one who has served in a number of positions that each deal with the many pertinent topics of parish administration, and throughout the book utilizes expertise on the subject matter and very practical suggestions for those who are seeking to learn about parish administration in the Catholic parish.
In my opinion, this text is an excellent resource that could help anyone who is interested in learning about parish administration, and could be especially helpful to those training to serve in administrative roles in the Catholic parish. Filled with practical knowledge, this text is one that I know I will utilize regularly in the coming years and I highly recommend it to others for their own knowledge and use.

excellent book & resource

I had used this book as a text in a parish administration class that I took in my final year of seminary training. This text was an excellent text that gave a great overview of parish administration. The text was very easy to use and gave very practical and real examples that I was able to understand and relate too. I think that this book would be a great book for anyone that is involved in parish administration that is looking for something to help them feel out this job. Also, this would be a great text for someone that has even had some parish administration experience, again as a review of some things that they might need to be attentive too as a parish administrator.
