About the Author
Dr. Leo Troy is professor of Economics at Rutgers University, where he has been a faculty member for more than 40 years. Professor Troy is the recipient of numerous awards, including two from the National Science Foundation, two Fulbright grants, and many awards from private foundations. He received his Ph.D. from Columbia University and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He has written many other books, as well as numerous articles that have been published in leading journals.

Great Information

We are a commercial finance company and needed to establish our own internal way of interpreting financial information. When a customer submits an application for financing, its only natural to supply information that shows favorable to the client. This book, (very in depth!) gives us a measurement ruler to judge our applicants in comparison to industry standards. For example, our customer may show a very favorable ratio of debt/net worth. The industry specific guidelines contained within this book may show a more modest ratio. This would cause us to investigate more on this customers debt claims.
The book is essential a data tabulation of numbers and columns. By finding the industry you want to measure, and scrolling through the criteria to find the one that meets your requirement, the numbers are a great way to judge where you are in business in comparison to all others in your industry. Its not absolute science, but its a great way to measure where you are in comparison to your business peers.
It may take a few minutes to become oriented with the book as it appears to be pages and pages of numerical data. Once you figure out how to find your data, the results are tremendous!
