A new way of celbrating our advent and christmas experience!

This book has helped make my 2003 Advent and Christmas experience the most prayful experience in my life. Folowing in the footsteps of the Stations of the Cross, this book honors and reflects on the many events leading to the birth of our Savior. A small group in our church used it as a celbration expereince during the third week of Advent. Many said it was a great experience one they wish to do again next year. I have bought three copies of it for Christmas gifts for those in ministry. I highly recomend this book for personal and small group advent and Christmas worship services.

easy to understand and biblically acurate

Although I am not a catholic but a born-again christian, I greatly enjoyed this book. I really appreciated how this book sticks to the bible account. For example, it doesnt have the wise men visiting baby Jesus at the same time as the shepherds, like so many more commercial books depict. It also talks about Mary visiting Elizabeth when she is pregnant and Jesus being presented at the temple after he is born, which are events often left out of other christmas story books. It is appealing to young children with it's simple, easy to understand laguage and big, beautiful pictures. However, it is deep enough for adults to enjoy as well. Each page has at least two bible verses and the author also draws out a lesson at each "station" that can be applied to our every day lives. There are two sentances in the book that are exclusively catholic, as they talk about worshipping the virgin Mary, but the rest of the book would be apropriate for all christian denominations. When I read this to my 6 year old daughter I just dont read those two sentances outloud. When she is old enough to read the book for her self, I will just use this as a teaching oppotunity to discuss my beliefs about Mary and wither we should worship her or not. I'm glad I bought this book.

Beautiful and powerful

I initially bought this book several years ago for my own use. But over the years I have used in in Advent retreats, for spiritual direction and as gifts. The pictures beautifully depict the power of Emmanuel and the grace of Mary.
